General Tips and Tricks / Applying Thermal Paste
« on: August 03, 2018, 12:24:26 PM »
For a video on the subject, please check out the following video:
https://youtu.be/NlBB2bJU3y4

Before you can apply a new layer of thermal paste to a CPU or GPU, you will have to remove the old layer. This is best done by using a Q-tip with isopropyl alcohol. Once the old layer has been completely removed, you can then apply a new layer. Make sure that you apply the paste thoroughly across the entire surface. It does not need to be a very thick layer, but it must cover every inch. After that, simply put the unit back together again, making sure that you do not accidentally smudge the new thermal paste layer with your fingers or any part of the console.

For Sale / $65 Original NES complete with AV cable and 1 controller
« on: January 25, 2018, 04:57:34 PM »
This is the original NES model NES-001. It has been thoroughly cleaned inside and out, and is equipped with the NES-11 CPU. This is the latest CPU made by Nintendo, and typically has a very good anti-piracy filter which means that you won't be able to play any unlicensed games on the console (like and Tengen releases). Because of this I have disabled the 10NES-chip, which is the lockout chip. This bypasses the anti-piracy filter. I am selling the console along with a 9" AV cable and 1 controller. Neither the powerbrick nor the controller are original, but they both work perfectly. There are also some discoloration on the top of the console, and two small chips in the front left and right corners. Everything has been tested and works beautifully.

For Sale / $75 PlayStation 2 Slim SCHP-75001 Complete
« on: January 22, 2018, 11:51:23 AM »
I am selling this PS2 Slim, complete with a power cord, 8' composite cable and 1 controller. Every aspect of this bundle has been thoroughly cleaned inside and out. The only imperfection is some paint markings on the power cord, as I feared that I might compromise the cord by either scrubbing or using solvent to remove the paint. It does not impact the performance of the console in any way.

If you are interested in seeing this exact console being cleaned, you can check out my cleaning tutorial here.

Empires & Puzzles / How to best level up your Heroes
« on: November 27, 2017, 09:07:00 AM »
As you start out, one of the biggest issues you will face is how to best level up your heroes. It does not take long before you realize that this is a slow and arduous task that require a lot of food and loot. So, the problem isn't how fast can you level up your heroes, but what is the smartest way of doing so.

Let's start with the basic first. In order for any hero to level up, he or she needs to "train" with other heroes. Simply choose the hero you want to level up from your Heroes menu, then click on Level Up and start sacrificing other heroes. Please note that any hero you sacrifice is lost forever, so don't sacrifice someone you like.

Now then... let's get into the more advanced strategies...

Different ranked Heroes give different leveling bonuses. The higher the rank, the higher the bonus. Also, just like everything else in the game, the hero's element also plays an important part:
Common Hero: 150 Experience Points
Common Hero of the same Element: 180 Experience Points
Uncommon Hero: 390 Experience Points
Uncommon Hero of the same Element: 468 Experience Points
Rare Hero: 630 Experience Points
Rare Hero of the same Element: 756 Experience Points
Epic Hero: 900 Experience Points
Trainer Hero: 1000 Experience Points
Epic Hero of the same Element: 1080 Experience Points
Trainer Hero of the same Element: 1200 Experience Points
Rare Trainer Hero: 2500 Experience Points
Rare Trainer Hero of the the same Element: 3000 Experience Points
Legendary Hero: ?? Experience Points
Legendary Hero of the same Element: ?? Experience Points

But simply advancing your hero's level is only one half of the equation. The other (and most important) part of leveling up is to increase your hero's Special Skill. The maximum level for any hero's Special Skill is 8, but it is no easy task getting it there. However, this Special Skill will automatically gain one level every time you Ascend your hero - which can be done once his or hers current tier has been maxed out.

Just like the experience bonuses above, different heroes give different skill bonuses when used to level up your hero:
Common Hero: 1% Chance
Trainer Hero: 1% Chance
Common Hero of the same Element: 2% Chance
Trainer Hero of the same Element: 2% Chance
Uncommon Hero: 2% Chance
Rare Hero: 3% Chance
Rare Trainer Hero: 3% Chance
Uncommon Hero of the same Element: 4% Chance
Epic Hero: 4% Chance
Rare Hero of the same Element: 6% Chance
Rare Trainer Hero of the the same Element: 6% Chance
Epic Hero of the same Element: 8% Chance
Same Hero: 25% Chance
Legendary Hero: ??% Chance
Legendary Hero of the same Element: ??% Chance

As you can see, the percentage chance to increase your skill is ridiculously low, unless you use the same hero. This means that you should always try to level up your heroes with the same heroes as often as possible. Just remember that if you use the same hero four times you are at 100%. Do not use any other hero at this point, as they will basically be useless. Instead take two turns leveling up your hero. And, if you don't have any duplicate heroes, try to use as many heroes as possible each time. The maximum amount of heroes you can use each time is 10.

But even by using the above information, increasing your hero's special skill is all luck-based. I hope this information is useful to you. :)

Since I created this Alliance, it is only fair that I start off.

My name is Tom, and while I was born in Norway, I currently live in Florida with my wife, 2 cats and an Icelandic Horse. I am 37 years old, and have been an avid gamer for as long as I can remember, which is also why I created this website.

Empires & Puzzles / House of ViGERP Alliance Rules
« on: November 27, 2017, 08:04:47 AM »
House of ViGERP Alliance Rules

While the main goal with any video game is for everyone to just have fun, we do need some rules of conduct to ensure that players don't ruin the game for the others.

1. Respect the other players
The core principle of the Alliance is that everyone just have fun. However, if you enjoy trolling others and/or being a jerk in general, this might not be the Alliance for you. As such you will be kicked out, so that you may have fun elsewhere.

2. Inactivity will get you kicked from the Alliance
One of the major aspects for any alliance is to combine forces and take down massive Titans. This can only be achieved with the help of every teammember. It can get really frustrating for active members to helplessly watch as a major Titan slips through the cracks, due to the inactivity of the other players. As such, any player is subject to the following rules:
Regular Members: 5 days of inactivity
Elders: 10 days of inactivity
Co-Leaders: 15 days of inactivity
Don't worry if you know you can't play for a while (like going on a vacation), just let us know in the game's Team Chat or in this forum. We understand that real life takes priority. The above is guidelines for any member who just suddenly stopped playing without any warning. And depending on your contributions to the Alliance, this time may be expanded upon.

3. Reward System
As you become more active within the Alliance, you will get promoted to Elder and even Co-Leader status. Back in the day you became an Elder when you dealt more damage to a Titan than the Alliance Leader, and a Co-Leader when you hit 1000 Trophies. However, nowadays we follow this guideline:
Elder: 1000 Trophies
Co-Leader: 1500 Trophies
Please note that as the Alliance grows stronger, these requirements may increase. Another note is that you will loose your current rank once you drop below 500 trophies of the requried amount. So you would go from Elder to Member once you have less than 500 trophies, for instance.

For Sale / $80 PS2 SCPH-39001 model. Console only.
« on: July 07, 2017, 12:35:23 PM »
The SCPH-39001 model is by many regarded as the very best and most reliable PS2. It has the best laser and mechanics of any model before it, and does not suffer from the mechanical issues that the later models did. It has been cleaned inside and out, and works like a charm. It has also been tested with both PS1 and PS2 games, and in both Component and RGB mode. I am selling the console only.

Currently selling an original Nintendo 64, that I have also modded to play both North-American and Japanese N64 games. It has been cleaned from top to bottom, and is working wonderfully. It does have some signs of wear and tear, especially on the Reset button, but this does not affect its performance in any way. I am asking 70 dollars for the unit.

For Sale / 80$ Intellivision. Console only.
« on: June 29, 2017, 06:03:37 PM »
The unit has been cleaned inside and out. Contacts and ports have also been treated for corrosion. Is showing signs of wear and tear, but works. Most notably, it is missing the on/off switch cover, and the aluminium cover for the controller buttons. However, it still functions without them. Controller cords are in excellent condition. Does NOT come with the RF cable.

For Sale / 33$ Sega Genesis 2. Console only.

Console only. Professionally cleaned inside and out. Does have some scratches on the cover from wear and tear - most notably across the logo (See photos). Is missing the expansion bay pin protector, and had a faulty trace that has been re-soldered. Tested and works great.

« on: June 29, 2017, 05:36:45 PM »
I am selling an original Playstation, which has been professionally cleaned inside and out (see photos). It looks and feels brand new, and is the 5501 model. This means that it does not have the RCA ports on the back, but does have the serial port. I am asking 30 dollars for the unit.

Wanted / Rules of conduct
« on: June 29, 2017, 05:09:52 PM »
This forum is intended to be used for requesting items for sale. It does not need to be video game related. There are a few important rules to follow, though.

1. Clearly state the item you are looking for in the subject/header of your topic.

2. Use the topic to discuss the item in question. It is acceptable to offer the item for a lower price than someone else - after all these topics will be used by the discretion of the buyer.

3. Once the item has been located and bought, the topic will be closed. This is done to avoid misunderstandings between buyers and sellers.

4. Payment and shipping is agreed upon by the buyer and seller, and ViGERP is not responsible for any trades or missed payments.

With that being said, I do hope that people find this forum useful.
Happy shopping!

This forum is intended to be used for selling anything and everything. It does not need to be video game related. There are a few important rules to follow, though.

1. Clearly state the item for sale as the subject/header of your topic - and with the desired price first!
(Example: 50$ Original NES. Console only.)

2. Use the topic to discuss the item for sale. Do NOT jump into someone else's topic to declare that you are selling the same product cheaper. This kind of behavior will not be tolerated.

3. Once the item has been sold, the topic will be closed. This is done to avoid misunderstandings between buyers and sellers.

4. Payment and shipping is agreed upon by the buyer and seller, and ViGERP is not responsible for any trades or missed payments.

With that being said, I do hope that people find this forum useful.

I am selling an original Xbox with everything you need to start gaming. It has been professionally cleaned inside and out (see photos), and works like a charm. I have also changed out the disc drive belt with a brand new one, which should last several more years. The unit has been tested and works like a charm. The only minor issue is that the AV port is a little loose, but this is easily corrected by putting some leverage on the AV cable. I am asking $85, and will ship it anywhere in the US for free.
