F.A.Q.

Q: What is the purpose of this site?
A: Vigerp is a database for any and all video games ever created. Its purpose is to cover every aspect of video games. No longer will gamers have to bounce back and forth between search engines and multiple websites to find the information they are looking for. Whether you are looking for tips about a specific achievement / trophy, having problems defeating a boss, need to locate that specific item needed in order to upgrade your weapon, or just can't remember the name of that game you used to play as a kid,... you can find all of that here, on one site.

Q: Okey... but right now, there is nothing here. This site sucks!
A: True. Right now there isn't much content on the site, and most of the content is information related to video game releases, and not the actual content within the games. This is due to me being the only one actively working on the site, and adding content to it. However, the entire site is designed with a Wiki in mind. Every single aspect of the site can be edited by a member of the site. Members also have the power to add any content they feel is needed as well. Think of Vigerp as a crossbreed between wikipedia and IMDB for video games.

Q: Why do I have to create an account in order to edit anything?
A: Well, there are three reasons for this. First and foremost, by being a member, you will gain authorship of any content you supply to the site. This will show up on the game's detail page, but also on your own profile. So, the more you do, the more impressive your profile is going to look. Secondly, it is very important for me to reward people for helping out. I have worked on several community-driven websites in the past, and I know how it is to work hard for something you believe in, without any promises of fame or fortune. So, if I see that certain people are going above and beyond what everyone else is doing, then you can bet that I will reward these people in one form or another. Thirdly, it is also a safety feature. Sadly, not everyone can be trusted with the power to make changes, and so should someone be so clever as to post spam, delete the work of others (I do have backups, so no worries), or insert links to adult "entertainment" sites, then I will be able to find out who the culprit is.

Q: So, do I have to become a member and work hard adding content in order to be allowed to use the site?
A: Absolutely not! Anyone is free to use as many or as few of the site's feature as they want. If you just want to use the site in order to get the information you need, than I am just happy that you were able to find it here. There is no obligation for anyone to do anything on the site, except just having a good time looking around. But, I am not going to lie, if everyone who visited the site also left behind a small change, then the site would grow immensly, and everyone would win in the end. It could be as simple as just snapping an image of a game you own that is missing a cover photo, and uploading it on the site.
